Hatteras GT59, the boat of the year |

| The Hatteras GT59 was, at the beginning of the year, one of the most anticipated launches for 2018 and during its presentation at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show it became clear that there were plenty of reasons for this.

The first news of the GT59 came during the Hatteras Club Experience ...at Hatteras headquarters in mid-September 2017. With a new exterior design and interior improvements, this new boat shows the future evolution of the GT, Hatteras deep-sea fishing yachts prepared for tournament, which had models of 45, 54, 65 and 70 feet. The shipyard perceived the need to meet the demand of its clients for a yacht of an intermediate length between the GT54 and GT65.

| The design of the new GT59 has been thought to optimize its characteristics as a racing boat looking for the comfort of a 70 feet boat.

The Hatteras design team has designed the GT59 giving maximum priority to its purpose as a competition boat for sport fishing. Inside, they propose three distributions:

- The first has, in addition to the captain's cabin, a similar one (both with their own bathroom) and a third cabin with bunk for the crew or children; there is also a starboard storage space for junk and reeds.
- In the second proposal, this space becomes an additional bathroom for the use of the occupants of the small cabin or visitors.
- And, in the third arrangement, that same starboard space is occupied by a desk, while the large forward cabin bed is replaced by a double bunk bed.

With a displacement of 89,000 pounds and two Twin Cat C-32A diesel engines, the new GT59 reaches a top speed of more than 40 knots, thus justifying the slogan with which Hatteras has baptized this model "designed for speed, built for battle".
